The PBHT Farrier School intends to be recognized as the leader of, and standard setter for, farrier science research as well as the leading provider of farrier science education. Our success and recognition will flow from our advanced training techniques, forward thinking education ideas, and advanced, multi-level hoof and horse balancing trimming techniques and certifications. PBHT will bridge the gap between farriers, veterinarians and horse owners in a harmonious manner, hence the name of the school.
The purpose of the PBHT Farrier School is to produce a higher quality trimmer / farrier, to set the standards for the farrier industry in the near future, to help bring unity and cohesion to the equine professions, to help educate horse owners and raise their confidence level in the equine professionals, and to perform hands on research in a controlled field environment to gain a better understanding of the inner, and outer workings of the hoof mechanism and the equine body as a whole.
Our objective is to provide an advanced teaching facility, which will incorporate proven trimming / farrier techniques, clinical research from Dr. Robert Bowker, nutritional and growth information from other expert resources in these fields, incorporate a variety of products for comfort and pain management to lameness cases or for therapeutic purposes, and provide the attending students with the best, most up-to-date knowledge available at the time. The PBHT school will strive to produce the highest quality, most well rounded and best trained trimmers / farriers, who will be capable of meeting the ever changing needs of today’s horse owners and the equine industry as a whole.
The goals to meeting our objectives will be:
The PBHT Farrier School will operate in West Central Georgia in the beginning, but will strive to expand to additional locations in order to accommodate farrier / trimmer and horse owner applicants throughout the US and Canada.
The PBHT Farrier School will succeed by providing superior service, sound research, unbiased feedback and quality education. We will consistently maintain and nurture an environment that encourages teamwork across all lines of business, disciplines, organizations and countries. Our efforts will be overseen and monitored by individual stockholders and a non-biased board of academics within each country of operation.
We will strive to be technology driven and do the ‘right thing’ for our clients and their equine friends, while being mindful of our commitment to excellence to our attending farrier / trimmer / horse owner students as well as our supporters and corporate sponsors. However, be advised, quality of education will not be compromised for the sole purpose of corporate or monetary gain. Quality of education is paramount.
We recognize that instructors will be our primary, sustainable, competitive advantage. We will hire, train and retain the best people available. Rewarding initiative, teamwork, individual performance and knowledge, treating our people fairly and equitably, and building a diverse training workforce will guide our actions and our commitment to excellence.
We will employ a common technology platform that enables us to effectively perform our training, educating and record retaining tasks. We will invest in systems that help us to deliver total educational and research solutions and relationships across lines of business and delivery channels. We will concentrate on making it easy for clients, independent and corporate, to do business with us and will develop highly competitive delivery channels and information systems that support our relationship driven objectives.
A time and results based trimming and / or shoeing protocol, developed by the primary entities involved in this endeavor, will be taught in each training facility. The protocol will be proprietary to said entities. The protocol will be ever-improving based on further time testing and due to incorporated results from research and development. The protocol will be outlined and available through developed training material and disseminated audibly during classes, clinics, conventions, expos and the like, but may not be copied or plagiarized without expressed permission or due recognition to the protocol developer(s).
